This couple moved to New England after living in New York City for many years, so they wanted to bring some of the city into their traditional home. The kitchen was outdated and inefficient for a family with two young boys so we opened up the space and created an enormous island to support the cook (Ashley!) and their many large gatherings. The mix of three styles of cabinetry adds interest: traditional white inset, textured Thermofoil and aluminum. The transitional style hood and penny tile backsplash pulls it all together and the result is a combination of a Beacon Hill home and SoHo loft.
