Grilled Tuna with Cucumber Ginger Salsa
Hopefully you are on our mailing list and received our latest recipe card featuring this delightful dish. I absolutely love making this in summer! You can also actually pan sear the tuna if you don’t have a grill or want to make all year round. It is simple to prepare and is sooo delicious. I made it last night for dinner so here is the recipe in case you didn’t receive the recipe via snail mail…
- 4 tbsp. Ponzu sauce
- 2 tbsp. sesame oil
- 4 (4 oz.) Tuna fillets
- 1/2 cup chopped cucumber
- 1 avocado, pitted, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp. pickled ginger for sushi, chopped
- 1 tbsp. lime juice
- 1 tbsp. finely chopped fresh cilantro
- In a shallow dish combine Ponzu sauce and oil. Add fillets: cover and refrigerate 1 hour, turning occasionally.
- To make the salsa – combine in a bowl the cucumber, onion, avocado, ginger, lime juice and cilantro. Toss and set aside.
- Coat grill rack with non-stick spray and grill fillets for 3-5 minutes per side to desired doneness (or cook with left-over sauce in frying pan on med-high heat so both sides of tuna are seared but inside is still raw).
- Slice tuna and top with salsa! Enjoy!
